how can you recover files from a dvd that have been broken in half. i have stick taped the 2 bits toher and tried to read it with hard drive data recovery software but no luck. its broken and that is the end of the story. anything on it is unrecoverable so you might just as well throw it in the bin now for what use it is. well i suppose you could superglue it toher and use it as a coaster!take it as a lesson to keep them in their protective cases at all times except when your using them.. the dvd reader will start to try reading the data on your dvd from the centre and then progress to the outside. so a damage centre (or 1st track is a bad start for recovering using free recovery software.this is assuming that you can align the 2 halves perfectly to the tracks back on line. however what you can try is a bit to bit dvd reader to c as much data as possible from the dvd, and then sort out what you recovered to some correctreadable data out of it. this process is very slow (many hours to ct bit per bit, cause its 4.3gb of data !). then additional hours to sort out the bit recovered (usually hexa converted data). also in this process it will be definitely more difficult to recover large files (softwares, movies) than small ones (text or pictures). specialised company can do that for you but for a significant high cost, so this is where you are going to really value the content of this broken dvd.. lol lol lol. if your tv smashed would you all the pieces and put em back toher no its simply broken. cant read the data laser cannot read it because theres nothing their. soz dude looks like ur either folking out some money or your using a website or a video recorder or your pc to make another dvdmust of been a bch how did u manage 2 break it, (soz 4 ur loshris. the tracks on a dvd are very and i mean very thin you would have more chance of winning the lottery every week for the rest of your life than lining them up rightface it the data is gone!. you cannot tape or glue it toher and have it work.the laser simply cannot read the dvd if its deeply ratched or broken in half.

how can i recover a deleted video file.. i have to recover a deleted video file..but it is overwritten with some other file.i used recuva recovery software but it could not recover that video file.is there any way to recover that file or shud i use a better software. through the help of software, data recovery.install it, and made it use.. why did you delete it. you cant. from what i read, if a file has been overwritten, you cant recover it.. you can send the hard drive off to a forensic recovery specialist if the file is that important to you.. you cant recover it. maybe try the recycle bin. it might be there. do you have a recycling bin on ur desktop if so it must be there. you probably cant, thats why you should always back up your filesand if you need it, why did you delete it its always a good idea to backup files, but only important ones, as it takes up computer space.. you can often successy hard drive data recovery from a pc, it all depends on what has happened since the files were deleted.when you delete files the data itself isnˇŻt deleted, just the index entry that tells the system where the data for those files is located. the area containing the deleted data is also now marked as free space so it is available for any new files to be written there instead. if and when that happens, then it is too late to recover your deleted files so it is very, very important to not save any new files or data to the device concerned.use another pc to browse the internet for a solution as internet browsing causes lots of temporary files to written to the disk. download any file recovery software, for example, to a memory stick, plug that in the computer with the deleted files and run it from there. if the deleted files are on a camera memory card or usb memory stick, just donˇŻt save any new files to it. one of the easiest ways to see if you can hard drive data recovery software is to try some good file recovery software. a good tip is to try the free demo version of a commercial product that will an the device for deleted files and show you exactly what files can be recovered. at least that will show you if you can recover the deleted files or if itˇŻs too late already. you can find more useful information on how to hard drive data recovery at asoftechapr
