BERLIN, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- China called for more globalcooperation in addressing the steel overcapacity across the worldon Thursday at the ministerial meeting of Global Forum on SteelExcess Capacity held in Berlin.


"Steel overcapacity is a common challenge facing countriesacross the world, rather than a problem unique to one country," LiChenggang, Assistant Commerce Minister of China Nike Air Max 97 Scontate , told a pressconference following the meeting.


He said the Chinese government has taken measures in recentyears to push forward the supply-side structural reform in thesteel sector and successfully reduced excess capacity by over 100million tons since 2016.


According to information shared among members of the GlobalForum on Steel Excess Capacity, from 2014 to 2016, China's capacityreduction is more than 120 percent of the total cut of the rest ofthe world.


All the cuts cost China a hefty price. Alone in 2016, 201,000steel workers were relocated in China Nike Air Max TN Scontate , which is greater than therespective numbers of steel jobs in the U.S. and Japan.


Li emphasized, China takes the lead in eliminating steelovercapacity with self-aware, proactive, determined and persistentactions, making key contributions to the development of the globalsteel industry.

The Global Forum on Steel Excess Capacity was founded inDecember 2016 following the consensus of G20 Hangzhou Summit. Ithas a total of 33 members (G20 countries Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse Scontate , interested OECD countriesand representatives of the OECD).


As required by the Hamburg G20 Declaration, the Global Forum isto deliver a substantive report with concrete policy solutions byNovember 2017, as a basis for tangible and swift policy action.





NAIROBI， Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Kenya received about 100，000 more tourists in the period ending September compared to a similar period last year as improved security and intensified marketing of the country as a tourist destination paid off.


Some 655，058 tourists visited Kenya through its two main airports， namely the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and the Moi International Airport in Mombasa， in the first three quarters， up from 555，856 in 2015， latest figures from the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) showed Monday.


The increased tourist arrivals， which is by about 18 percent， is good news to the sector that was initially on its knees following persistent attacks from the Somali militant group Al-Shabaab.


To fight terrorism， Kenya set aside 2.9 billion U.S. dollars on security investment to improve internal security， a measure that has led to peace， and launched initiatives to lure charter services.


East African nation， however， is doing more. Last week， the Kenya Wildlife Service slashed its entry fees to national parks and reserves in a move aimed at making them regionally and globally competitive.


KWS said all fees were capped at 60 dollars for adult non-residents and 8.6 dollars for adult Kenyan citizens effective this month.
