Step-by-step: How to clean a washing machine
1. Check that the washer is empty
Hopefully this is very obvious, but some people forget to empty their machine before washing it. Don't be that guy / girl!

2. Add approximately 2 cups of bleach to the powder tray
Be sure to add the bleach to the correct spot! Bleach will help remove buildup of washing powders, liquids, etc. that settle to the bottom of the washing machine over time.

3. Make sure the machine is empty, run it in a hot washing machine
This will circulate the bleach we just put into the powder pull and cut the goo at the bottom of the machine and it will kill any bacteria present.

4. Add two cups of white vinegar to the powder tray on a 40-degree cycle
The bleach will have done a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to cleaning your appliance, but white vinegar will remove any remaining odors.

5. Remove the powder tray and soak it in hot water and bleach for 15 minutes
Take out the powder tray and soak in the sink for 15 minutes with hot water and 1 cup of bleach.
